The decision in this case was taken after the direction of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to maintain the quality of the air around in all cities.
In other cities of the country, only green or environmentally friendly crackers will be permitted on Diwali.

Therefore, licenses for cracker sales will not be issued for these cities.
For Compliance with NGT orders, letters have been issued for all district judges, senior police supervisors and SPS.

Other cities are allowed to explode green firecrackers.
In the order, firecrackers can explode between 8pm and 10 nights at Diwali and Guruparv.
During Chhat, firecrackers can break from 6am to 8am.
On Christmas and New Year, people can break crackers starting at 11.55pm to 12:30 command word.
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh said the SDO, HR and the local police station had been asked to ensure ordinary compliance.
“District administration will also hold meetings with firecrackers and ask them not to store crackers in view of orders.
