Kolkata: In the midst of the central decision to start the Republican Day celebration on January 23 to coincide with the 125-year anniversary of 125 Netaji Subhas Chandra, Trinamool Congress on Saturday reacted sharply by reporting that the center had rejected the proposed Bengal Tablo for the themed R-Day parade Netaji and the Indian national army.
Party Rajya Sabha Chief Whip Sukhendu Sekhar Ray said: “By rejecting Tableau Netaji for the Republican Day Parade, the central government damaged heroic battles led by Netaji.” Lok Sabha Mp Saugata Roy said: “Last year when they refused Bengal Tablo, they did not give reasons.
This year they did not give reasons …
we will protest it.”
