Patna: Minister of Nitish Kumar’s chairman said on Thursday he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday along with the delegation of Bihar leaders from different parties to discuss the problem of caste-based census in the country.
Speaking with reporters after meeting Governor Phagu Chauhan in Raj Bhavan here, CM said the meeting would be held at 11am on Monday.
“Opposition leaders at the Tejashwi Prasad Yadav State Assembly and representatives from other parties, including BJP, will accompany me.
BJP is finishing the name of its leaders who will be part of the delegation,” Nitish said.
“Confirm about the meeting with PM coming on Wednesday,” added CM.
He said information about the proposed meeting was conveyed to the leaders of the parties concerned.
“The delegation of all parties will urge PM to conduct a caste-based census in this country.
The opposition leaders have asked me to find an appointment with PM during the recently concluded Monsun session from the legislature.

The state assemblies unanimously pass through the resolution that supports the caste-based census in 2019 and 2020.
