New Delhi: The Bill attempted to change the ACT of the Central University, 2009, to provide a university formation in the Ladakh Union area introduced at Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan introduced the Central University Bill (Amendment), 2021 in the middle of DIN by opposition members for Pegasus Spying and Farmers’ problems.
The opposition leaders opposed the introduction of the bill with Congressman Manish Tewari said that there was a respected home convention at that time until the time of the house not in the order could not be discussed.

According to the object statement, the bill seeks to change the ACT of the Central University, 2009, to provide a university formation on behalf of “Sindhu Central University” in Ladakh.
The Union Cabinet has last month approved the establishment of the central university and the multi-purpose infrastructure development company to Ladakh.
The decision to establish a central university at the cost of Rs 750 Crore and the corporation with RS 25 Crore funds for Ladakh has been taken at the Union cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.
The Ministers of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur told the media direction that the university would be established with a total expenditure of Rs 750 Crore and would serve all Ladakh fields which included Leh and Cargil.
Thakur said the university would help reduce imbalances in this region in the education sector and Ladakh students to get a quality higher education opportunity.
This will help in intellectual development and higher education better and will help improve the quality of education, he said.
