Panaji: accused that exorbitant water bills worsened the problem of people, the AAM AAM AADMI (AAP) on Saturday said that the BJP government’s free water scheme was nothing but multi-crore fraud.
AAP also said that RTI documents revealed that there had been a five-fold increase in water bills.
AAP has produced several water bills that show how errors in reading units and other billing errors have seen the bill increasing.
Even those who do not consume water are removed.
Candidates Minister AAP Amit Palekar said that the government produced Rs 4 Crore per month, which translated Rs 48 Crore per year because of the wrong bill.
“The amount is not small; this is a multi-crore fraud.
This shows systematic fraud being carried out by the minister’s chairman and his minister,” Palekar said.
He said that the failure around the free water scheme also proved the inability of the minister of Sawant Pramod.
Valmiki rose, Panaji AAP candidate, said that the party proposed several RTI requests on increased water bills and response revealed that many people in the state received a five-fold cost increase.
“Consumers who should not accept the bill must pay Rs 200, and those who should receive Rs 200 bills are given Rs 1,000 bills,” said the rise.
