Dindigul: The scorched bodies of four family members were found in Vathagoundanvalasu near Palani in Tamil Nadu in early Saturday.
The police said family members could be killed by someone before the bodies were placed in a haystack and burned it.
The deceased has been identified as Murucesan, 52, a farmer, his wife Valassathi, 45, and their children Sivaranjini, 21, and Karthikeyan.
Sivaranjini was a graduate of B Com and Karthikeyan chasing B Com at a private college in Puni.
Preliminary questions revealed that they returned home on Friday night after attending the family function.
In early Saturday, Murugan’s neighbors saw the fire emerged from a haystack and tried to remind him.
Because he did not answer the call, they told the fire department and rescuers.
While removing the flame, firefighters found the body charred from four people and warned the police.
The body was sent to the Dindigul Medical College Hospital for Postmortem.
Inspector General of Police for the southern zone of T’s Anbu, Deputy IG from Dindigul Range B Vijayakumari and Dindigul District Superintendent Police V R Srinivasan visited the place and conducted an investigation.
Fingerprints and forensic experts and dog squad pressed to serve.
Special teams are formed to solve this case.
