Noida: The Uttar Pradesh pollution control agency (UPPCB) has sent a notification to 51 government and private health institutions throughout the district because it does not comply with the norms of biomedical waste generation and operate without authorization.
Officials said that 21 of the companies had responded to notice.
This department is now a visit to another hospital to check whether they have compliance or not.
Praveen Kumar, Regional Officer of the UPPCB, said, “This notice has been sent to all hospitals who are not obedient, nursing homes and clinics.
Of the total, 21 responded, 11 had been closed, 10 had authorization but more than three years and the rest was unknown.
Our system was online three years ago and those who have older permits are not reflected in our system.
We have updated it now.
However, we are still waiting for responses from 30 others.
“Officials added that similar notifications have also been sent to the three hotels about generation waste Biomedical.
There are 800 small and large medical companies in the district, according to UPPCB data.
Everything needs to ensure that waste is collected by one of the three registered biomedical waste collectors.
Regardless of authorization, all hospitals need permission to operate (CTO).
Officials said that this agreement was given after checking whether the hospital obeyed all air and water pollution norms.
The UPPCB team will also send notifications to those who may not have this agreement.
Kumar said, “Until now we visited and examined 30 hospitals that had not returned the notification.
We also have told CMO to ensure compliance,” Kumar said.
According to health officials, most hospitals have the necessary authorization because this was examined during the Covid crisis, especially for facilities that were notified as a Covid Hospital.
Dr.
Sunil Sharma, Gautam Budh Nagar Chief Medical Officer, said, “We have asked the hospital to obey strict actions to be taken against them, regardless of whether this government or private.
The UPPCB team will visit this hospital and will also examine the management process Their biomedical waste is physically if needed.
