Ahmedabad: The foul odor leads the Khokhra police to a woman’s body, around 35 years old.
The body was found hidden in a polythene water tank formed on the third floor of the garment factory in Mohan Estate.
When it was informed about the body in the water tank, the police rushed there and the woman’s body was taken out with the help of firefighting personnel who used tree cutting bars to cut the tank.
“While the tank is cut, the best treatment is taken to ensure that the body does not accept any injury or sign,” said a police officer.
“It seems like the woman died a few more days.
We have told all police offices and seek information about women who are missing in their jurisdictions,” said Y s Gamit, Police Inspector Police Khokhra.
The body has not been identified, said gamit.
He said that the police had not received a copy of Postmortem.
“Once we get postmortem reports, there will be more clarity at the time of death and modus operandi,” said the gamit.
According to a senior police officer, the woman was identified as a resident of Amrawadi on Tuesday night.
“The identity has not been revealed because this will hamper the investigation process,” he said.
The police said that the terrace where the body was found was that of the garment factory that was not operational all the time.
The police questioned the garment factory staff and had not ruled out people’s hands.
“It is possible that the woman was killed after all workers left.
There is also the possibility of a woman who was in a relationship with the defendant and was killed after a dispute,” said a police officer.
He said the police focused on three people.
This according to the police is a second incident like that where the body is thrown away in the water tank.
The first incident is also in the eastern part of the city.
The police have restored the body that is exhausted in the tank used for wheat storage.
The incident was reported from Maninagar.
