Thiruvananthapuram: Valiyathura police here on Friday enrolled a case and launched an investigation after a newborn baby was found dead near the Valiyathura pier near.
The baby’s mother was also found in the lower states of nearby.
The woman had shifted to the hospital and stored under supervision.
The police said that they received information from local residents around 4pm.
When they reached the place, they saw an unconscious woman and a dead baby.
According to the initial investigation the baby seems to be sent prematurely, police said.
The police also said that the woman was around 25 years old and was identified to become a local resident.
According to officials, further investigation is underway.
