Coimbatore: Fire and Rescue Service Personnel has taken the bodies of agricultural women, who were drifting in a flash flood on Saturday afternoon at Mathipatayam Odai in the retail, from Senenur Pond on Monday afternoon.
“Vijaya’s 55-year-old body, Marudhan’s wife, from Ambedkar Street in Mathipatayam Village, was found to be floating in the Sennanur pool at 1pm.
We immediately took the body and sent it to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for Postmortem,” Firefighters told Toi.
Fire service personnel and rescue from Thonbamuthur, Kovaipur and South Coimbatore are involved in search operations, which have entered the third day on Monday.
Rolon officials Tahsildar B T T Ramesh and the income department also camped in the region for the past three days.
