Tirupur: The body of two children, who was swept away at the Parambikulam -aliard-Project (PAP) canal in the Pongalur here on Tuesday, was taken on Thursday.
H Bharanidharan, 15, from Kangeyam Road and T Sharan Sanjay, 16, from RK Garden, is a class X students of KSC Government Secondary School in Tirupur.
According to the police, the Duo had gone to school on Tuesday morning.
“After school hours, they went to the Pap Channel with a few friends.
When the water was released to the canal of Thirmurmurthy Dam, the two boys were swept away in strong water flows.
Their friends raised the alarm and tried in vain to save the duo,” said a police officer.
Although the fire service personnel and rescue launched a search, it was stopped after sunset.
It continued on Wednesday, but the bodies were found floating 50 km in Vellakovil on Thursday morning.
