Prayagraj: Remember through the popular booklet ‘look at a glimpse’ to get train details, stops, rates, routes, and other information whenever you have to plan a train trip? It won’t be printed again because the train boards have decided to go digital and offer a booklet in digital format.
Now it will be called ‘digital in a glance’.
Look at a glance, a practical book published every year by Indian Railways, which is used to offer complete information about railways, including timings, routes, reservation procedures, regulations, and traveling regulations, passenger facilities available on the train, menu and rates, Rail information – Tourism, fees, etc.
Must have to train travelers for decades, booklets will now only be available in digital format.
Although the booklet was being printed since 1927, the Indian train printed a concise first train schedule on behalf of the ‘Train Overview’ only in 1977.
In 2020, the booklet was not printed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Last year’s restrictions, train schedules have been printed throughout the past 92 years.
Now new online booklets, called ‘digital in a glimpse’ will be available for users throughout the country.
In the letter to CMD IRCTC, the train board gave him the responsibility to prepare a popular digital booklet format.
IRCTC has, in turn, sends a letter to all state zone trains, including North Central Railway (NCR), told them about the Board’s decision.
Glancing at a glance has disseminated information about all countries trains including Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Duronto, Garib Rath and Express Trains.
All zone trains have also published train schedules operated by them.
The train schedule issued at the zonal level mentions a smaller train station where passenger trains and memo stops.
However, it has been realized in recent years that this booklet utility has been reduced substantially because people began to use the national railroad investigation system and round 139 services.
Commenting on this problem, the Head of Public Relations, NCR, Dr.
Shivam Sharma, said, ” The decision to eliminate the shape of the mold ‘railroad at a glance is a railroad.
IRCTC has written to all state zone trains that tell them that now the same digital booklet format will be launched.
