Pithooragarh: Darma Valley, Vyas and Chaudas were cut off from other border areas on Thursday after a 48-meter concrete bridge was washed away after heavy rains.
The bridge was built on the rivulet kulagar on Jalan Raya Tanakpur-Tawaghat, close to the Indian-Chinese border, said Dharchula Sub Division (HR) AK Shukla.
The track route has been developed as a substitute by the border road organization (bro) for now, he said.
Transshipment is being carried out along the 100 meter area to reach both sides of the road violated, Shukla said.
Bro said the Bailey Bridge will be built as an alternative within five days to continue the movement of the vehicle to the border valley, he added.
