The budget may not allocate funds for Jaipur Metro Phase-II

Jaipur: The state government in the 2022-23 budget is not expected to make the allocation for the old Metro Phase-II Jaipur, the 23.5 km corridor, which was proposed to be built between the Indian gate and Ambabari at Tonk Road.
The source said the government tended to announce funds to extend the Mansarovar to the Badi Chaupar corridor.
“The government can announce funds to take phase I (C) (Badi Chaupar to transport Nagar) and phase I (D), (Mansarovar to Ajmer Road).
Project costs for both phases will be around RS 1,200 Crore and will connect the Ajmer Road to Agra-Delhi Road.
Taking Rs 4,550 Crore Phase-II is not on the card.
“Many believe, the government must consider the metro at Tonk Road as a corridor that stretches from south to north and connects all the main areas.
According to a detailed project report, it connects different areas such as Sitapura Industrial Area, Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, Sitabari, Bapu Nagar, Rambagh, C scheme, Chandpole, Bani Park, a leading hospital such as SMS Hospital, Zanana and Jaipur International Airport.
The official source at JMRC said, “The state government must take the Phase-II project because it will be more beneficial to the city in reducing traffic jams.
Estimates of passenger phase -II will be more than 2,08,926 in 2031.” JMRC previously appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ( DMRC) To review detailed project reports (DPR) from Jaipur Metro Phase-II.
After ending the French company contract Egis Rail SA, the corporation appointed DMRC to review the revised DPR and reduce costs.
