The cabinet approved the central university in Ladakh; to be built at a cost of Rs 750 Crore

New Delhi: Union Cabinet approved the establishment of a central university in the Ladakh Union region on Thursday.
The university will be built at a cost of Rs 750 Crore.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Central University, announced after revocation of article 370, aims to deal with regional imbalances at the higher education level and stimulate intellectual flows in the wider Ladakh community.
Posting a Cabinet meeting, Education Minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan Tweeted: “Welcome approval of PM Shri @ narendramodi to establish a central university in Ladakh.
This will remove regional imbalances in higher education in line with NEP and open new opportunities for young people.

“Built at the cost of Rs 750 Crore, a central university in Ladakh will help turn on local youth intellectual skills, facilitating the creation of knowledge-based society and promoting the growth and development of the area of ​​the Ladakh, Leh & Cargil as a whole.

According to the Ministry of Education Source, the bill will be introduced to change the Central University Law, 2009.
“The Cabinet also agreed to the introduction of the bill, namely, ‘Central University (Amendment) Bill, 2021’ in Parliament.
This will increase access and quality of higher education and also acts as a prostitute for other educational institutions in the region by promoting high education and research facilities for the Union region community.
“The University will handle regional imbalances at the higher level of education and stimulate intellectual flows in a wider Ladakh community.
It will also play an important role in strengthening democratic values ​​and promoting Ladakh’s growth and development,” the official said.
Modi in his speech to the nation on the last independence day announced the establishment of a new Central University in the Ladakh Union area.
Furthermore, the Minister of Finance Union in budget speech 2021-22 has also announced the formation of a central university in Leh, Ladakh.
