The cabinet nodded for a clean link to all tribal hamlets

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has cleared policy and administrative proposals to ensure internet connectivity for all tribal hamlets in the state.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that the cabinet on Wednesday had decided to provide government land rent up to a maximum of five cent to establish a telecommunications tower.
In addition, properties that are suitable for establishing towers in the ownership of government departments and local bodies will be given rent at the RS 5,000 level per year.
There will be no fees to use the pole owned by KSEB, PWD and LSGD to draw cables to provide an internet connection to the tribal area.
The permissions needed to explore the way to put optical fibers will be considered given after a certain period of submitting the proposal.
In areas where internet connectivity cannot be provided using a wired or wireless system, VSAT technology will be used.
Where KSEB services are not available for power, solar panels will be established with the help of anert, the cabinet decides.
Assembly session: The cabinet decided to recommend the governor to hold the third session of the 15th legislature from October 4.
Venu Rajamony was OSD: The Cabinet decided to appoint a former IFS official from 1986 Batch Venu Rajamony as an officer about a special task of part-time basis.
He was appointed in the rank of major secretary to connect with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian and foreign diplomatic missions and to explore the possibility of collaboration with other countries in the fields of education, culture, finance and investment.
Cabinet Sub-Committee: The Cabinet has decided to form two sub-committees.
The first to be chaired by the minister’s chairman will have agriculture, local independent government, cooperation, industry and finance ministers as its members and have been formed to improve the agricultural sector.
The second committee that will be chaired by the local government of government will have cooperation, industry and finance ministers as its members intended to prepare roadmaps to create employment opportunities under each local body.
