The Cabinet provides a nod to a new industrial policy with a focus on 20 main sectors

Ranchi: The Country Cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod to Industrial and Investment Policy New Jharkhand (Jipp) 2021.
The new policy will replace the existing Jharkhand industrial policy in 2016, which was adopted during the term of office of the former Minister of Raghubar Das.
“Jipp will apply for five years.
Through this policy, the government aims to take an investment worth Rs 1 lakh crore in the state and provide work to 5 lakh people,” said Secretary of the Vandana Dadel Cabinet.
As reported by TOI in March this year, JIPP aims to focus on 20 sector-specific industries, where eight has been called a high priority sector.
These include clothing, cars, automatic components and electric vehicles, agro-food processing and processing of meat, pharmaceutical and electronic systems and design manufacturing (ESDM).
Start-up and incubation center, health care, education, logistics and warehousing, tourism, IT and services that support IT, beer factories and refineries, renewable energy and medium techniques as the priority sector.
The policy also promises capital subsidies between 5-25% on new projects and investments.
In another decision, the Ministers agreed to the Proposal of the State Health Department, medical education and family welfare aimed at providing financial disbursement once to all outsourcing employees working in the Covid-19 ward, Covid-19 Control Rooms, office and warehouse during a pandemic.
Previously, doctors, nurses, paramedic staff and contractual employees from the health department had been paid for one time honorarium.
“One-time disbursement will be equivalent to their monthly honorarium,” Dadel added.
The Cabinet also approved another proposal from the Ministry of Health which would enable the government-managed hospitals, medical colleges and health facilities to appoint doctors, senior citizens, nurses, ANMM and raval nurse staff on short-term contracts of six months.
Promises will be carried out to reduce labor shortages in the Covid-19 Hospital Bangsal before a surge in other infections projected by health experts.
The doctor will be paid Hospital 3,500 for one shift in a day while senior citizens will be paid Rs 2,000 for the same period.
Nurse staff will be paid between Rs 800- Rs 1,500 per Shift, Dadel announced.
In other decisions, the Cabinet approved a proposal for the higher state education education department and technical to make acceptance at the Colleges Bed State for the 2021-23 academic session through the merit list.
“This is a one-time setting by considering the Covid-19 scenario, which prohibits conducting a shared entrance exam.
