KABUL: Taliban captured the city of Taloqan in the Northeast Takhar Province on Sunday, security sources and residents told AFP, the third provincial capital to fall into a guerrilla in one day.
“We resigned from the city this afternoon, after the government failed to send aid,” said security sources.
Meanwhile, a city resident said: “We saw security forces and officials leave the city in a vehicle convoy.”
