Chennai: The fresh Covid-19 case fell below 3,000 marks in Tamil Nadu on Saturday to 2,812 cases.
The state stated 17 dead and issued 11,154 patients.
Except for three districts – Ariyalur, Dindigul and Kalakurichi – all others reported a decline in new cases compared to their Friday tally.
Chennai (546) and Coimbatore (523) reported the highest number of cases, followed by Chengalpet (238).
All other districts reported less than 170 cases.
Mayiladurai reported three new cases followed by tenkasi and their respective screens.
Of the 17 deaths, there are three in Coimbatore, two each in Chengalpet, Tirupur, Salem, and Mayiladuthurai.
With a decline in cases, the average RPCR test has dropped from 1.3 lakh in the last week of January to 1.1 lakh.
During the same period, the weekly testing level has dropped from 12.7% to 4.2%.
“It’s a good sign.
But the Covid protocol is not obeyed,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
At least a dozen districts have testing tests that are above the country’s average.
Five Western District – Tiruppur (1.5), Krishnagiri (9.6), Coimbatore (9.6), Erode (8.1) and Salem (7.5) – reported the highest average weekly test level in the city.
More than 90% of patients continue to remain in house isolation.
Of the 12,585 Panchayats village, 2,792 and 24 of 121 cities have completed the first dose for the entire population, according to data from the immunization wing.
Until Saturday morning, almost everyone in 45 to 59 years had taken at least one dose of vaccine, while 86% had completed the course.
Until Saturday morning, 91% of the population above 15 years had taken at least one vaccine dose and 70.42% had taken two doses.
More than 37 lakh of 1.04 senior citizen crore had ignored vaccines, and only 53% had taken two doses of vaccines.
In the age group 18-44, almost 86% of 3.2 Crore had taken the first dose and 63% had completed the recommended course.
In the age group 15-18, 80% of them have received the first dose and at least one of four double vaccinated.
During the Mega vaccination camp on Saturday, 7.3 people lakh over 15 years took a vaccine.
