Noida / Ghaziabad: Even when the number of Covid Daily cases violates notes, the implementation of the Covid protocol such as wearing a mask or maintaining social distance in the market and public places is still very loose in Noida and Ghaziabad.
Official data revealed that Ghaziabad did not even issue Chaltans against violators.
For more than six weeks now, the district has not fined one person to say Covid norms.
The district has as many as 567 public address systems, but they are almost not used.
Since December 1 last year, this district only registered two cases under IPC part 188 (disobedience to order correctly announced by civil servants).
Noida, on the other hand, took some actions and paid a fine in people who did not wear a mask.
Since December 1 last year, the district has fined more than 10,850 people and collected Rs 10.85 lakh in a fine.
There are 342 public address systems working in the district.
And as many as nine cases have been listed under the IPC 188 section too.
Visits to various markets in both districts revealed that the majority of people violated facial mask rules with impunity.
In Ghaziabad, the local market in Turab Nagar, Ghanta Ghar, the Navyug market, among others, looks full of many people, with most people who don’t wear a mask.
Although there was a large surge in case, the local police did not seem to be disturbed by the situation.
When contacted, Ghaziabad SSP Pawan Kumar said he would instruct the police to issue Challans.
“We issued Challans in public places but more importantly, we made people aware of the benefit of the mask.” Ghaziabad reported 9,489 cases since January 1, while there were more than 9,000 active cases in the districts undergoing hospital care or home.
In Noida, the majority of local shop owners in the Sector 18 market are seen wearing masks, but the same thing cannot be said about visitors.
Rinki Saxena, a local shopkeeper, said, “During the day, the police patrolled the area and made an announcement and even took out Challans.
But, people don’t seem to be afraid.” When contacted, Ranvijay Singh, deputy commissioner of the police, Noida, said The police have worked actively and ensure that government orders are followed.
“We have driven throughout the district and spread consciousness.
We also published Challans against those who violated Covid norms,” he told Toi.
GB Nagar saw more than 11,200 cases in January so far.
Other districts of the Meerut Zone – Meerut, Bulandshahr Baghpat – and Hapur are also very slack in taking on toppers for assignments.
