Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said the state government had no intention of allowing casinos to be reopened when the curfew was on.
He told reporters that the government only allowed several economic activities to start in the state of low-cost in the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
Casinos, both offshore and land, have been closed for more than two months.
Authorities, meanwhile, monitor the Covid-19 situation in the state, Sawant said, and added that a random sample of positive Covid patients was being sent to Pune every 15 days to ensure that the Delta-Plus variant had entered the country.
Even when the state-level curfew remains valid until July 12, the government on Sunday allows bars and restaurants operating from 7am to 9pm, but with a capacity of 50%.
The government has also allowed events, including marriage, up to 100 people or 50% of ALU capacity, which is lower, with the approval of the district judge or sub-district judge.
New relaxation came into force since July 5.
It also said that the shops can remain open from 7am to 6pm, as opposed to the closing time at 3 the afternoon before.
