The celebration of the Olympic-themed Independence Day in Gurgaon this year

On August 15, at Gurgaon’s Tau Devi Lal Stadium, the celebration of the Independence Day of the Grand Independence District will have a sporty touch this year, with the show highlighting the record of India Haul at the Tokyo Olympics who have just concluded.
According to DPRO Gurugram, hundreds of students from various government schools in the district have prepared several performances for that day, the main ones are a performance based on the Tokyo Olympics, which concluded last week.
Yash Garg, Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon, said, “One of the themes of this event was based on Indian achievements at the Tokyo Olympics, especially the medals won by Haryana athletes there.

” India won seven medals at the Tokyo Olympics, three of them won by athletes from Haryana.
This includes a historic gold medal by Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra, and silver and bronze won by Ravi Kumar Pengiat Dahiya and Bajrang Punia.
In addition to them, the men’s hockey team, who won bronze, also featured players from the state, and a women’s hockey team, which was almost left in the medal, attended by Haryana Rani rampal.
Performance displays children dressed as wrestlers and show off hockey skills, and dance performances featuring Olympic rings.
The performance is intended to highlight Haryana’s contribution to the victory of the Indian Olympics.

Last year, there was no celebration held due to Covid-19 pandemic.
This year, the district government has decided to limit the presence in the venue to ensure social distance.

Therefore, despite the big celebration, we will ensure social distance and sanititis,” said Deputy Commissioner.
