New Delhi: Mines Minister on Wednesday said he had adopted a scheme for the accreditation of private exploration agencies to carry out mineral prospecting operations.
“The Ministry of Mine has adopted a private exploration institution accreditation scheme developed by the National Accreditation Board for the Education and Training of the Indian Quality Council (QCI-Nabet),” according to an official statement.
QCI-Netbet will accredit the private exploration agencies to carry out mineral operations in accordance with the standards and scheme procedures.
“Interested private exploration agencies must be asked to obtain accreditation in accordance with the scheme and after that it applies to services for notifications under the second provisions to the sub-section (1) Part 4 of the law,” the Ministry of the Ministry said.
The ministry has formulated guidelines to consider exploration agencies for notifications containing detailed procedures, terms and conditions for the same thing.
“The Ministry of Mine has published an Accreditation Scheme and Guidelines for Notification of Accredited Private Exploration Institutions on the Ministry’s Official Website …” he said.
Mine and Minerals (Development and Regulation) ACT, 1957, (ACT MMDR) have recently been changed through the Amendment Act of MMDR, 2021, with the effect of March 28, 2021.
It empowers the center to tell entities, including private entities, which Perhaps prospecting operations, subject to such conditions and conditions as can be determined by the center.
“With a view to increasing the speed of exploration in this country and to bring advanced technology in mineral exploration, it has been decided to notify the private exploration agency to carry out prospect operations under the second provisions for part 4 (1) from the MMDR Law,” it said.
At present, only government institutions involved in exploration and the pace of exploration are limited by their capacity.
The current step from the government is the reform of the main regulation in the mineral sector which aims to release the economic potential of this sector by bringing more institutions in mineral exploration.
This will increase the speed of exploration, create new job opportunities in this sector and bring blocks that are more explored for auctioned.
This scheme will also help encourage new entrepreneurs in the field of exploration and bring the latest technology and expertise to this sector.
