New Delhi: As the first administrative dosage of Jab Anti-Covid has surpassed the second dose, the center on Saturday requested eight North Eastern countries along with Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir to focus on increasing the coverage of the second dose, especially in the population above 60 years.
In these countries, the second coverage of the “unsatisfactory” vaccine dose in the elderly population above 60 years – the most vulnerable to SARS-COV2 infection and death therefore, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan striped with meetings with these countries to review status Vaccination.
The center advises the country to record doses, days and targets the resolution of vaccination training for people over 60 years when the vulnerability of these people to Covid-19 makes this exercise very important.
Meanwhile, States and the United States are also asked to quickly saturate the first dose coverage among the 18-plus population.
A total of 68.33 doses of crore of covid-vaccine were given until Saturday.
Nearly 56% of the 94 crore adult populations have received at least one dose of vaccine, while around 17% of adults aged 18 years and over have obtained both doses.
The center asked the state to monitor shares from state-level stores to the cold chain point, check the rational distribution and limit the waste of vaccines below 2%.
Countries have been asked to update data about EVIN (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network) every day.
Bhushan led a review meeting with representatives from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and northeastern countries – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagalana, Sikkim and Tripura.
Details of 0.5 ml syringe needle balance, vaccination coverage among special groups such as transgender people, persons with disabilities and detainees and among women, pregnant and breastfeeding women, are also discussed during the meeting.
