Noida: The Union Government has decided to establish an Indian Heritage Institute in the city, the body of the umbrella where all heritage institutions in the country will operate.
The information was provided by the culture of Uni and Tourism Minister G Kiswan Reddy in response to questions that were not demanded in parliament on Monday.
Officials in Gautam Budh Nagar Administration and Noida Authority, said they did not have information about the project like now.
The minister said the Indian Institute of Heritage will be a world-class university and will focus on conservation of real legacy countries that are rich and research, development and dissemination of knowledge.
He added that “excellence in student education and activities related to inheritance will contribute to Indian cultural, scientific and economic life”.
The institution will offer Master and PhD courses in the history of art, conservation, musiology, archive studies, archeology, preventive conservation, epigraphy, numismatic and script.
It will also offer conservation training to employees in services and students.
This will be the institute “which is considered a university”, Lucknow, the National Museum Institute of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMichm) and the Academic Wing of the Art Center (Igna) Indira Gandhi, New Delhi.
These institutions will become schools under the center of Apex.
Minister Reddy said it would become a stand-alone institution of its kind in this country.
However, there is no budget allocation made for the project in the current fiscal.
Asked about the Institute, a senior official told TOI: “We haven’t heard anything about such institutions planned in Noida.
We have not received official communiques about the same thing.” Source said the authority of the larger Noida Industry Development (Gnida) It is likely to approach the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with a proposal to establish an institution under his jurisdiction.
“We want to have a prestigious Institute in Greater Noida and we are ready to hit the land for it,” said a senior official.
