Ed had summoned nieces and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and his wife to be questioned in connection with money laundering cases associated with alleged coal fraud.

For summons, Abhishek Banerjee said, “BJP thinks it can put pressure on us by using edits to us but we will be angry stronger.” Abhishek Banerjee, 33, represents the Diamond Harbor seat at Lok Sabha and is the National Secretary General of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
He had been called to appear in front of the case investigation officer on September 6, while his wife Rujo had sent a similar call under the prevention of laundering Law (PMLA) for September 1.
