New Delhi: The government’s fiscal deficit has worked as Rs 5.26 Lakh Crore or 35 percent of the budget estimate at the end of September 2021, in accordance with the data released by the General Controller account (CGA) on Friday.
The figure in the current fiscal deficit seems much better than the previous financial year when it has surged to 114.8 percent of estimates mainly due to surge in expenditure to handle Covid-19 pandemic.
In the absolute term, the fiscal deficit or gap between expenses and income is Rs 5,26,851 Crore at the end of August, CGA said.
For the current financial year, the government expects a deficit in GDP 6.8 percent or Rs 15.06,812 Crore.
In accordance with data, the total central government receipts reached Rs 10.99 Lakh Crore or 55.6 percent of the appropriate budget estimate (BE) 2021-22 to September, 2021.
Total receipt of 25.2 percent from 20-21 during the appropriate period Last financial year.
Of the total receipt, tax revenue is Rs 9.2 lakh crore or 59.6 percent.
Tax revenues are only 28 percent from 20-21 years ago.
Further CGA data said the total central government expenditure at the end of the first half of the fiscal year reached Rs 16.26 lakh crore or 46.7 percent of the current fiscal schedule.
Of the total expenditure, from RS 13,96,666 Crore is in the account of income and RS 2.29,351 Crore is on a capital account.
Of the total income expenditure, Rs 3,63,757 Crore due to interest payments and 1,80,959 crore rs pay attention to the main subsidy.
The fiscal deficit for 2020-21 is 9.3 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), better than 9.5 percent projected in revised estimates in the budget in February.
