New Delhi: The government on Monday imposed restrictions on the export kit of Covid-19 fast antigen testing kit when some experts have warned the third wave of Coronavirus which is possible in the country.
“Exports of Covid-19 fast antigen testing kits have been placed under a limited category with direct effects,” said the notification by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
Now, exporter must look for licenses or permission from the DGFT for shipping items under the limited category.
This limitation will increase the availability of kits in this country.
Previously, in May, the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) suggested using the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kit for bulk screening.
It is also said that mice must be permitted in government and private health facilities throughout the country in cities, cities, schools, colleges and community centers.
The Indian Medical Research Council also issued an advisor for Covid-19 home testing using a fast antigen kit.
Distribution of Coronavirus to rural areas, where RT-PCR testing laboratories are not available are the main reasons behind this strategy.
According to central government data on August 4, there were several warning signals that showed the number of Ind India above 1, for the first time from May.
R value above 1 means that everyone or individual who is infected with Covid-19 infects more than one other person.
The Ministry of Health of Union and family welfare said the increase in the Coronavirus case was being witnessed in 18 districts, especially in Kerala (10 regencies), Maharashtra, Manipur and Pradesh Arunachal.
