Mumbai: Deputy Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Thursday claimed that the center owed more than Rs 30,000 Crore to Maharashtra against the compensation for goods and services (GST).
“The aim of GST is a one-tax country.
Some of the GST Council’s commitment is still not fulfilled.
It must be fulfilled by priority.
Until yesterday, GST Maharashtra 30-32 thousand Crore was still not given to us,” Pawar told media personnel here.
This came ahead of the GST council meeting to be held on Friday at Lucknow.
Pawar stated that Maharashtra had requested a virtual presence for the meeting and said that the state government had written suggestions for the meeting.
“We have to look at the center of the holder who took the request to bring the price of fuel under GST.
We will take our attitude when this problem is brought before we,” he added.
Finance Minister Union Nirmala Sitharaman will lead the 45th GST Board meeting in Lucknow on Friday.
The meeting will also be attended by Mos Finance Pankaj Chaudhary.
