Bhubaneswar: For the second year in a row, the UNIWAN Defense Ministry has refused the Odisha Republic Tablo, causing hatred in the state.
The ministry has also refused Tableaux at Republic Day from the state such as West Bengal, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, resulting in disappointment.
Odisha has sent five proposals for the Republican Day Parade including Paika rebellion, life and time of Jayi Rajguru and Chakhi Khuntia, Hockey infrastructure in Odisha and how Odisha works to develop hockey and disaster management.
Sources said at the beginning of the selection committee consisting of experts from the fields of art, culture, literature, design and music liked the idea of Paika’s rebellion, but they then rejected it.
The Tablo of the State in 2020 shows the glory of the Lingaraj temple carved and the wealth of the Rathe Rathy culture is highly valued and won prizes too.
“We don’t know the exact reason why they reject our idea or proposal.
There must be a reason for that,” said Gajendra Sahoo from B K College of Art, who was responsible for the design and development of Tableaux.
