The Center said it would not delay the procurement of rice as a phase of farmer protest in Punjab, Haryana

New Delhi: The center on Saturday convinced farmers that the procurement of rice in Haryana and Punjab will begin on October 3, two days after this process will be postponed this year.
The central decision came after farmers from the two countries held anger protest in several places.
Several thousand farmers even gathered outside the head of Minister Haryana Manohar Khattar to protest the delay in procurement.
“Procurement (Kharif Results) will start from tomorrow in Haryana and Punjab,” Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey said.
Previously, the center had delayed the procurement of Kharif Paddy in Punjab and Haryana – which usually began on October 1 – until October 11.
It was said that the decision to postpone the process was taken because the maturity of the plants was postponed and the water content in the new arrival was allowed to the debat limit to heavy rain recently.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Friday was a call to protest outside the legislator’s residence in both countries to register their protests for the delay in rice plants.
The police said that there were no reports of “main” unwanted incidents of the two countries.
