The center takes over projects in Krishna, Godavari

Hyderabad: In the midst of the ongoing water war between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Ministry of Union Jal Shakti has taken over all major and medium irrigation projects in Krishna and the Godavari region in both countries.
The ministry issued latent notice Thursday night which handed over the strength of the water release, gave approval for the construction of Hydel’s project and Hydel Power to two Boards – the Krishna (KRMB) River Management Agency and the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB).
While the state government must stop all ongoing projects, the jurisdiction and the power of the Board will come into force since October 14.
The decision, who was waiting over the past few years, had been consumed by the Central Ministry as both.
Being in Tempibir above the distribution of water and hydroelectric power plants over the past few months.
While Telangana has objected to the Rayalseema elevator irrigation project in the AP, the AP has opposed the way in which Telangana produces power from irrigation projects.
Stunned by the decision, Telangana reportedly decided to take legal and political actions to stop the notification.
The government is believed to have decided to approach the Supreme Court and protest in parliament.
Chairman of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a meeting with the Department of Secretary’s Irrigation and Engineer Engineer About the notification on Friday night.
He also met with members of Parliament TRS and discussed how to protest the upcoming parliamentary session starting on July 19.
The government plans to insist that the center resolves the allocation of water between Telana and AP before applying notifications.
The Telangana Government is concerned about new notifications will have serious implications for state projects because the central has taken over 107 major and medium irrigation projects, including 36 projects in Krishna and 71 on the Godavari River in both countries.
With notifications that define board jurisdiction, Telangana and AP will not have the power of irrigation projects (both are completed and sustainable) in their respective countries.
However, the center did not touch a small irrigation project.
“The two governments must stop all sustainable work on projects that are not approved regarding the date of publication of this notification until the project is assessed and approved.
If approval is not obtained within six months after the publication of this notification, full or partial operation if one of the projects is not approved.
What is not approved will stop operating, “the notice said.
The Ministry of Union said that if there were disputes related to KRMB’s jurisdiction, it would be referred to the center and his decision would be final.
The same things related to power plants, transmissions, and distribution must be implemented by the state according to the board directives, notifications added.
To make a functioning of the functioning neutral, notification said, no one from Telangana and AP to be appointed as chairman, member secretary, members and the main engineers of the KRMB and GRMB.
At the same time, to the function of the board, the two countries have been asked to deposit RS 200 Crore to each Board by each government.
The ministry said instead of state police, central forces will take over and protect the project site.
The Telangana government has attracted a case at the Supreme Court for the issue of sharing water after the guarantee given by the Minister of Shakti Jal Gajendra Singh Shekawat during the second APEX board meeting in October 2020.
While the decision about referring to the problem of sharing water into a new court was postponed, the notification center was released.
Another problem is, according to notice, the government must get approval within six months from the date of notice that is not possible because every process takes several months.
KCR recently embedded officials to produce hydel power at full capacity to meet power demand for irrigation irrigation projects.
Now, Telangana must take permission from the board to produce hydel power.
KCR reported told members of his parliament that the center took over all the subjects of the country such as agriculture, education and now irrigation, which needs to be opposed inside and outside parliament.
