New Delhi: Minister of Agriculture Union Narendra Singh Tomar said the government took the steps needed to achieve nutritional security along with food security.
Inaugurating a two-day conference in Hyderabad, the minister said that on the Indian initiative that the United Nations was stated in 2023 as an international year milleters.
Tomar urged the present generation to understand the importance of nutritious meadows such as millet and make it part of their daily diet, according to an official statement.
The minister highlights that the center has announced agricultural infrastructure funds worth a crore rs 1.5 lakh to fill the gap in the agricultural sector.
He said this center has launched a special mission for oil seed oil and oil palm cultivation from which farmers in Telangana will be very profitable because the land here is suitable for planting this plant.
To encourage the next generation to invest in agriculture and to ensure beneficial results for plants, Tomar said the center had imposed three new agricultural laws.
The government will spend the Rs 6,850 Crore to establish 10,000 new farmer producer organizations (FPO) and as a result around 86 percent of farmers will be transformed, he added.
