New Delhi: The Delhi Government on Tuesday said the central government had not asked them to data on deaths related to lack of oxygen in the national capital during the second Covid-19 wave.
Health Minister Delhi Satyendra Jain said, “We have not received a letter from the central government asking for data on oxygen-related deaths.” Yesterday Delhi only reported 39 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours with a positive level of only 0.8 percent, which meant that of 1,000 tests were only one or fewer positive cases.
However, the Delhi government has started preparation for the third wave, said Jain.
Asked about the Delta variant, said Jain during the second coronavirus wave itself more than 80 percent of the cases were Delta variants.
“The new sample we send now has more than 80 percent of the Delta variant case.
Previously we sent samples to ICMR, they also said the same thing.
Now we are testing it in our laboratory, only the Delta variant will come out in it too, “Jain added.
He further said, “We are preparing 37,000 beds, 12,000 ICU beds for the next wave.” The Delhi government has launched a color-coded response system for Covid-19 management.
The first phase will be implemented with 0.5 percent participants.
“When participants reach 1 percent, we will consider the second phase and 5 percent as red and then apply the third phase,” Jain said.
