Nagpur: Nagpur Middle Prison has increased anti-covid steps in the background of the omicron threat.
During the last two pandemic waves, 233 inmates had been infected while three times dead.
There was no infection reported so far in prison which currently has around 2,500 prisoners.
It was studied, quarantine facilities in Lawn Mangalmurti outside the prison had continued.
Lawn is being used for quarantine seven days.
The prison has also revived other quarantine facilities in prison where entered prisoners will be saved for two weeks before being permitted in the regular barracks.
It was studied, similar settings were also made in parts of women too.
Anup Kumar Kumre prison supervisor said that nearly 100% of prisoners had taken the first dose while 90% was fully vaccinated.
“We once again emphasized hand washing, cleaning and covering.
The prisoners were repeatedly reminded to use soap, disinfectant and cleanser,” Kumre said.
The prison authorities have also started preparations to serve ‘Kadha’ and immunity to increase diet and drugs to prisoners.
“We maintain a close watch on the health of prisoners with comorbidity,” said the prison supervisor.
Although the prison and court authorities have shown a tendency to release prisoners to reduce crowding in prison, strict anti-crime drives against criminals have made it difficult for officials to effectively maintain physical distance in barracks effectively.
“More prisoners come than they are released,” he said.
