New Delhi: Expressing satisfaction of the mitigation methods applied in Kerala, a high-level high-level multi-disciplinary public health team note that the government has intervened efficiently to avoid lack of oxygen and ICU beds in the state during a pandemic.
The team was sent by the central government to monitor the control measures and detention of Covid-19 in the state.
The team visited the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital, Parird Ppal Medical College and a General Colenchery Hospital and took stock of Covid-19 treatment facilities and held a discussion with the Minister of Health Veena George.
“The team expressed satisfaction with the care given to patients, basic facilities, and vaccination processes in the state,” George said.
“We have also asked the United States to share additional 90 lakh vaccines.
We try to vaccinate 2.5 to 3 lakh per day,” said Minister.
The team consists of regional directors of the Public Health Specialist Ruchi Jain and Jipmer Pulmonary Medicine Head Dr.
S K vinod Kumar.
The team also held a discussion with the Health Secretary of Rajan Khobragade, Director of the NHM Rathen Khelkar and others.
