Patna: The State Health Department on Monday claims that the central team of four members who have come to the country to review the Covid situation is “more than satisfied” with the steps taken to fight viruses and vaccinate people.
The team has reached Patna on Sunday.
On Monday, the team held a meeting with a senior health department official for almost three hours.
They also sat at a routine meeting of the Ministry of Health with all civilian surgeons and asked questions directly from them.
One official said the team visited several areas in the city for direct experience.
The central team also tends to visit several districts in the state to review the Covid situation.
“We have told the team about the steps taken to test and vaccinate people.
The team was also informed of the enforcement of the Covid protocol in the state.
Central officials are more than satisfied with the steps taken in the state to fight viruses.
Capacity The state oxygen generator also increased, “said the Special Secretary of the Health Department of Sanjay Kumar Singh.
The central team has been sent to the 10 states, including Bihar, which has witnessed an increase in omicron cases or poorly performing on vaccination fronts.
When Bihar has not registered the Omicron case, the central team mainly focuses on vaccination fronts.
Sanjay said they had been given a clear picture of vaccination and beneficiaries who met the requirements that would be inoculated to the central team.
Officials said that even though Bihar had 7.34 crore people over 18 years according to the voter list, door to door surveys conducted by the Ministry of Health found that nearly 5.95 crore lived in the state.
Other health officials said the center may have calculated vaccination carried out from a total population of 7.34 crores, not 5.95 targeted by the State Health Department.
“On Monday night, 5.74 crore people have been given the first dose.
This shows that more than 96% have received the first dose.
But when the calculation is done by considering the calculation of 7.34 crores, only 78% get the first dose,” The official said, adding a country to reach almost a saturation level when it comes to the first dose.
He added this center also called for virtual meetings with all states on Tuesday to discuss rolling vaccination for adolescents and a dose of booster for health workers, frontline workers and elderly people with comorbidity.
