Jaipur: Chairman of the Minister of Ashok Gehlot on Sunday blamed the government policy that was not planned behind inflation in the country.
He said the center failed to take steps to control price increases, which had made it difficult for people to run their homes.
He said the retail inflation rate had jumped from 4.23% in April to 6.30% in May, while the wholesale inflation rate had touched 12.94%.
“This shows that how the price of important items increases quickly,” Gehlot said.
Quoting the Institutional Securities Data box released in June, he said the price of soap has surged from 8% to 20%, the price of washing powder jumped from 3% to 10%, qualified oils jumped 20% to 40%, tea from 4% to 8%% and baby food from 3% to 7%.
