The child unit gets Rs One Crore for Covid orphans in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: For development and financial assistance to children affected or orphaned because Covid, the UT Social Welfare Department has transferred RS1 Crore to the District Children’s Protection Unit (DCPU) from its budget.
The amount was transferred after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Finance.
Nitika Pawar, Secretary, Welfare of Social and Women’s Welfare Welfare and Children, said Rs 1 Crore has been transferred to DCPU which will be distributed to children affected by Covid and their families.
UT government has identified 108 children under the ‘Parvaris’ scheme.
Six Diutifi-orphan children have been given Rs 80,000.
Likewise, the total RS14.20 Lakh will be transferred to 55 children who have lost a single parent, which includes Rs 5,000 per month per child, their education costs.
“When the transfer is done after verification due, the department is doing work on the bunch.
We are expected to praise money all beneficiaries until August by the end of this month,” he added.
The government has been carried out with annual income conditions if orphans.
In the case, where children lose one parent because Covid, administration has maintained 5 Lakh’s annual income conditions.
