Coimbatore: Directorate of Precautions and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) Sleouth has ordered the former Chairperson No.4 City Veerapandi Pancrayat KVN Jayaraman and his wife J Keerthi to collect disproportional assets with their known source of income.
The couple said 1.45 crore illegally in five years from 2011 to 2016 when the last 47-year-old Jayaraman served as chairman of No.4 City Veerapandi Panchayat.
“Using money, moving properties and not moving bought with their names.” He said the husband’s wife duo was ordered below section 13 (2) read with 13 (1) (e) prevention of corruption law, 1988, on Friday.
Jayaraman, a resident of Anna Nagar at Veerapandi Pudur was first chosen as chairman No.4 Veerapandi Town Panchayat in 2001.
He was chosen for the third time in a row in 2011.
“He came from a family of middle class and his 36-year-old wife was A housewife, “Dovac Sleuth said.
According to the first information report submitted by DVAC, Jayaraman and his wife have a property worth 1.25 Crore on October 25, 2011.
Their assets grow quickly and touch 3.43 crores on October 24, 2016, while income from their known source of income for that period is only 1 , 50 crore.
“Imposing the couple had a 78 lakh expenditure during that period and saved another 71 lakh, we came to the conclusion that they had made 1, 45, 74, 040 from unknown income sources during that period,” said the source.
