New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has been awarded first place because it becomes the cleanest city in this country in the 1-3 population of lakh under Swachh Survekshan 2021.
It has also been decided by five-star garbage and water-plus city.
However, Delhi Cantonment has slipped by ranking and standing a third of 62 Cantonese surveyed by UNI housing and the Ministry of Urban affairs.
“The ministry has set four categories to provide a award of Clean City in its toolkit and includes cities with 1-3 lakh, 3-10 lakh, 10-40 lakh and more than 40 lakh populations.
We stand first in category 1-3 cities Small lakh, “said an NDMC official.
The Civic body has scored the highest goal between 372 cities assessed in the 1-10 lakh category, as determined on the Swachh Survekshan 2021 website.
This has been followed by AmbikPurgur, Tirupati and Noida.
Last year, it was third in the same category.
According to the NDMC statement, “we continue to strive to build excellence in service standards and aim to provide world-class civil facilities to residents.
In fact, NDMC, in relation to the ministry, has made a ‘zero waste’ event.
All of these achievements have placed NDMC as platinum City (Divya) in Priber Dauur Samman.
“The official claimed that they made an effort to improve service.
“We have 100% segregation in sources, 100% processing waste every day and there is no garbage dump point or trash can in the NDMC area,” claimed a senior official.
“Our dried waste is 100% processed and wet waste used for composting.
There are 53 compost holes, 26 organic waste converters and six biometricization plants,” he added.
Factory compost 20 metric-tons also operate fully.
