The climate refugee crisis signaled in India if water scarcity continues: ‘Waterman’ Rajendra Singh

New Delhi: India can face the climate refugee crisis in the next seven years if water scarcity continues to survive in the country, the famous water conservation of Rajendra Singh.
“Climate refugees” means increasing large-scale migration and cross-boundary mass movements are partly caused by disasters related to such weather.
Water Conservationist Singh, also known as “Waterman of India” said the country could not be ‘Paanidaar’ (Air Mandiri) until the balance between release and refill was maintained.
“And form a balance between discharge and water filling is only possible through decentralization management driven by the community,” he said.
Singh said people had moved from their village.
City because of water scarcity.
“Europe sees climate refugees from many African countries.
Fortunately, Indians are not called climate refugees at this time but in the next seven years if water scarcity in India continues to survive, Indians will also face the same situation,” he warned.
He questioned what would happen in the future of India if the water bank would be like a water bank emptied because of excessive groundwater pumping.
“Already, migration because water scarcity is underway and everywhere migration is taking place from villages to cities and we must really call it the displacement of people.
Now, the situation is such that there is a scarcity of water like that person leaves the village and Cannot be back.
“In India, migration because the scarcity of water is happening.
The city has water.
In agriculture, to the development of skills and use of water that is efficient under the water literacy movement does not start in the country until then India cannot end the scarcity of water.
, “he said.
Bharat Lal, additional secretaries (water), Department of Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jang Shakti, said the government had launched Jal Jeevan Mission and worked towards recharging, supply and reuse and maintenance of water in the country.
“Under Jeevan’s mission, the community is involved and our goal is that in time, sanitation.
And villages and schools that are enlightened by cleanliness are made.
The water committee led by women is being made and civil society is involved in spreading awareness,” he said.
Singh said the water crisis was “a crisis of women” and the government had formed a 3.8 lakh female committee but it was only on paper.
“What their strength was, what was in their hands when a contractor was hired, he remembered his profit.
So, When the action driven by the contractor occurs, how it benefits the community, “he said.
Singh said because of climate change, farmers could not harmonize plant patterns with rain patterns.
“How the rain pattern changes because the climate change has an impact on plants and destroying it.
Farmers cannot ensure how much rain they can expect,” he said.
“We can do it By introducing the first water literacy movement and also the University of Agriculture in the country must be given the responsibility to notify the rain patterns in 90 zones of agroecological ikritis and connect it to plant patterns to help farmers, “he added.
