The cluster system will begin at 9 Hyderabad colleges

Hyderabad: Starting this year, the Department of Higher Education Telangana will implement a cluster system in nine autonomic level universities in the city, helping students choose courses available in other institutions in groups.
The new cluster system was introduced as a pilot project in Osmania University College for women, Koti, Nizam College, college city government, college government for women, Burumpet, King Bahadur Venka Rama Reddy Female, St Ann’s College, St Ann Francis College for women, Bhavan’s degree, Sainikpuri and Loyola Academy.
To start, the system will be implemented for level two students in universities identified.
The cluster system will facilitate the mobility of students and faculties from one institution to other institutions.
For example, a graduate of art in history, students of economics and political science from one institution can pursue psychology or mass communication courses offered by other institutions or vice versa.
Likewise, the teaching faculty can also be exchanged between colleges in the cluster.
“Credit allocated for certain courses will be transferred to the completion.
Apart from the mobility of students and faculties, this system will also facilitate collection or share resources such as libraries, infrastructure, best practices and other human resources,” said Papi Reddy, Chair of Telangana, Adding education (TSCHE), adding that institutional students can gain access to book collections available at other institutions.
Likewise, laboratory facilities will also be available between nine institutions.
This new system will be executed between institutions by entering the agreement.
Tsche recently formed three working committees with the principles of this college – each on academic and credit transfers, infrastructure and sharing resources and guidelines for implementation.
The committee has been asked to learn and prepare a schedule to offer courses and how the course and resources can be shared between institutions.
They were asked to submit a report within 15 days.
