Coimbatore: Director of Collegiate Education (DCE) has placed a 42-year-old faculty member from the Government Arts College, Coimbatore under the suspension.
He was arrested on bad charges with girl students on Friday.
According to Principal V Kalaiselvi, they received a suspension order on Saturday night from Collegiate C Poornachandran’s education director.
The decision was taken after the Director’s meeting with staff from the Ministry of Higher Education.
In the order, the director had quoted a sustainable investigation by the C – 2 police station, the competition course against the teacher was accused of P N Ragunathan who headed the department in college.
“While he was arrested by the police, it was necessary to place him under conspiracy for the public interest,” observed the Director of Poornachandran in the letter, “according to Kalaiselvi.
A 19-year-old female student has submitted a complaint with a racial course on Friday for alleged physical progress by the teacher in March this year.
Ragunathan was also found to have sent obscene messages to several more female students.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the police ordered it under four different parts and arrested him on Friday.
