Bhubaneswar: The branch of state crime on Wednesday arrested the senior branch manager of the insurance company in Rourkela to cheatly transferring Rs 60 Lakh in a bank deposit from a retired Rourkela (RSP) steel factory officials for various policies in the company.
The accusation was identified as Gyanendra Panda.satchidananda Patnaik, retired RSP official, has submitted a complaint with Crime Branch on August 14, 2018, alleges that Panda in Convance with two private bank employees deceived him by transferring his money to insurance policy on his name without his knowledge and his approval.
“I have opened four deposits to Rs 4 Lakh in my name and five FD worth Rs 6 lakh in the name of my daughter in Rourkela.
Panda meets me in October 2014 and insisted that I invest in mutual funds.
I then agreed and gave him two checks amounting to around Rs 10 Lakh, “said Patnik.
Panda, who used to work in the same bank where Patnaik has FDS, allegedly behaving along with two bank employees and completed his FDS (RS 9 Lakh) without telling him.
Panda allegedly bought a policy from his company on behalf of Patnaik.Panda allegedly abusing 14 self-signed examinations amounting to RS 34.89 lakh provided by the Patnik and used the money to buy a retired policy.
