New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday is a party screening committee for the election of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly with Jitendra Singh as its chair.
Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda and Maharashtra Mla Varsha Gaikwad has been appointed as a panel member, who also has a party secretary for Uttar Pradesh as its members.
The Head of the State Congress Ajay Kumar Lallu and the leader of the Legislative Party of Congress in Uttar Pradesh Aradhna Misra has been nominated as a member of the Ex-Officio Committee, said a party statement.
All AICC secretaries for Uttar Pradesh have also been appointed as members of the Ex-Officio panel.
The panel will be a short list of party candidates for assembly polls.
The selection of assemblies at Uttar Pradesh is scheduled for early next year.
