New Delhi: Air Quality Management Commission in the National Capital and Willing Region (CAQM) on Monday allows the resumption of construction and demolition activities (C & D) in Delhi-NCR and the entry of trucks carrying goods that are not important into capital immediately affects.
The panel has ordered many steps given the alarming level of pollution in Delhi and neighboring cities.
Only CNG and electrical trucks or those carrying important commodities are permitted to enter Delhi while construction is prohibited, with exceptions given to several projects, including trains, ISBTS, airports, sanitation and public utilities.
Lifting a ban, the commission records improved air quality and weather forecast, which indicates the continuation of wind speed trends and favorable climate conditions to facilitate dispersion of pollutants from the region.
Caqm orders say people or agents who carry out C & D activities must strictly comply with instructions for dust control norms issued by the Commission, Construction and Demolition of Waste Management Rules and various CPCB guidelines.
However, the Commission said the site or unit where construction activities were stopped or suspended could not continue the work now.
Caqm also ordered that the construction project under the Jurisdiction of Delhi and NCR Regency Uttar Pradesh must immediately register on the web portal launched for online distance monitoring based on agents for dust pollution management.
Caqm has asked Haryana and Rajasthan to assign the portal on January 20.
The Friday Commission has enabled the authorities in Delhi-NCR to continue the physical class for students in class 6 and above, universities and other educational institutions with direct effects.
Also say that the physical class for students to 5th grade can start from December 27.
It also ordered the thermal power plant operation located within a radius of 300 km from Delhi and was given relaxation to the industry.
Meanwhile, after the ban was revoked, Minister of Environment Delhi Gopal Rai said the anti-dust guidelines, which existed to control pollution at the construction site, must be followed by all institutions, both private and government.
“The night patrol team will monitor the site to ensure that all 14 norms are being followed.
The anti-dust campaign will continue,” Rai said.
The minister said the Delhi government would continue other steps such as water sprinkling, anti-open combustion campaign and PUC examination.
