New Delhi: The output of eight core infrastructure sectors rose 9.4 percent in July due to low basic effects, government data released on Tuesday showed.
In the period which last year, it has dropped 7.6 percent due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemic.
In June this year, growth was 9.3 percent.
The output of these sectors is at all 40 percent of the industrial production index (IIP).
“Coal production, natural gas, refinery products, fertilizers, steel, cement and the electricity industry increased in July 2021 for the period in accordance last year,” said a statement released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
However, crude oil production weighed 8.98 percent decreased 3.2 percent in July during the same period last year.
The cumulative index fell 3.4 percent during April to July 2021-22 for the period according to the previous year.
But coal production in July rose 18.7 percent, natural gas of 18.9 percent, petroleum refinery products of 6.7 percent, fertilizer by 0.5 percent, steel of 9.3 percent, cement of 21.8 percent and electricity is 9 percent.
