New Delhi: Flying out of Kolkata Airport can soon become more expensive.
The Indian Airport Authority (AAI) has proposed Hiking Airport Aeronautic Rates until March 31, 2026.
User Development Costs (UDF) can be a multilevel method from Rs 583 and Rs 1,402 per domestic and international passengers each with RS 1,895 and Rs 4,560 in April 2025 .
AAI has submitted a proposal to the Airport Authority of Indian Economic Arrangement (Aera), which will call after taking stakeholder comments.
Flights have occurred among the most difficult industries by Covid with all players such as airlines, airport operators, land service providers and flight kitchens struggling to survive due to sharp traffic.
But because almost all major Air airports face congestion problems in pre-covid times and the need to increase their capacity, Aera has scored a balance between contrary to airport operators to increase tariff rates.
The same will be the case with Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NCSBIA), which can see domestic traffic back to pre-covid levels on March 2024 while international awakening can take longer.
“Aai hopes that the terminal building capacity (Kolkata) will be saturated by TA 2024-25.
As a result, AAI proposes to do a Capex worth Rs 123 Crore (where the aeronautical component is Rs 116 Crore) to increase the existing capacity of the terminal building by doing (some Steps), “said Aera in a consulting paper for NCSBIA tariffs.
The steps include AAI proposals to increase departure security detention capacity; Construction of International Immigration and Security Check along with the security holder area and build a new safety area with four bus dormitory gates.
Thus, Paper Aera said AAI proposed to raise the aeronautical tariff by climbing landing, parking (for aircraft), the cost of aerobridge and UDF.
While UDF is borne directly by leaflets, the increase in other charges will be for airlines, which in turn, will forward it in the form of a higher flight ticket.
“Domestic UDF at RS 735 per passenger embarking (existing level RS 583) and UDF International at Rs 1,766 per Passenger Passenger (RS 1,401) with the effect of October 1, 2021, an increase of 26% on April 1, 2023, and after that an increase of 27% On April 1, every fiscal until FY 2025-26 was proposed, “he said.
