The couple stole traffic signal batteries; Arrested

Bengaluru: Bengaluru police captured the couple for stealing the traffic signal battery on Tuesday.
A senior police officer from the Ashok Nagar police station told Ani, “With the increase in the case of traffic signal battery theft, we began scanning CCTV recordings and saw a suspect couple between 3am and 5 in the morning on a scooter.
The couple has disabled the light Their tail scooters to avoid the camera to capture vehicle registration numbers.
“We collected data from 4000 similar scooters from the Regional Transportation Office (RTO) and randomly questioned more than 300 people and had to camp in Junction Goraguntepalya for several days to get Sikandar and Najma, Said senior officer.
The couple began stealing traffic signal batteries in June 2021.
A total of 68 stolen traffic signal batteries have been registered at various police stations in Bengaluru.
The defendant used to sell this battery as a memo and make money, said police officials.
“The defendant Sikandar is a tea seller and a garment worker.
Sikandar is a history of Sheeter and has been arrested for stealing two-wheeled vehicles in 2017 and 2018 by the UPParpet and JJ Nagar police station,” added police officers.
